I struggled with this for awhile since I did it on my Android phone. Here's a baby step overly detailed walkthrough for getting the 10 gold:1) download the Google authenticator app2) open rockstars link to 2 step verification3) under the QRL will have a long code for those that can't scan the QRL. Copy the code.4) open Google authenticator (downloaded in the google play store) and select 'enter a provided key'5) on the Google authenticator app put your rockstar account name EXACTLY as it is spelled into the account name box on the Google authenticator app.6) paste the code you copied earlier into the 'your key' box on the Google authenticator app7) create the code in the authenticator app as a timer, not a counter. And once it's created you will have about 20 seconds to finish the next steps as the code will change every 20 seconds8) copy the 6 digit code from the authenticator app that you just created and put it in the rockstars code box.
The Google authenticator will make a space between the 6 digits; however, you must remove all spaces from the code and print as a whole. Example 1234569) enter your rockstar password in the other box on the rockstar 2 step verification page and confirm the two step verification.This is just what I did and it worked for me. You won't get your gold for awhile since rockstar is slow at these things but be patient.
