Ethernet And Wifi At The Same Time

Ethernet And Wifi At The Same Time Rating: 7,0/10 6073 reviews

I have two Internet accesses at the work, one via the ethernet and the other one via one wireless AP. Their addressings are differnet. Ethernet 10.10.10.0/24 and wireless 192.168.1.0/24. Obviously, there are NATings at the upstream routers. I use 'route'statements to route specific traffic via the wireless link and default route to ethernet interface.

Jul 14, 2017  Let me make things clear: your computer is connected to ethernet LAN and Wifi at the same time, and you want to route all internet connections to Wifi, is that right? This can be easily done by dragging the Wifi to top of interface list on a Mac. Aug 15, 2016  I know that this has been a long time, but it is possible to connect through ethernet and wifi at the same time. Just not sure if this has any advantage over anything, but I'm not seeing any problems whatsoever. Oh, and by the way, I've got Windows 8.1 as my primary OS.

All works well in my HP 8540P.I now get a new HP PC and I would like to keep the same setting. However, I find out that if ethernet interface is plugged in, the wireless interface gets disconnected. As soon as I unplug the ethernet cable, wireless interface becomes available.

I spoketo HP helpdesk and we looked at the bios setting that HP did not disable the coexistence of ethernet and wireless interfaces. It is the windows setting. So, how can I use ethernet and wireless interfaces at the same time?

It must be something with HP's BIOS programming or a hardware limitation. My Dell laptop gives me the option of using both at the same time or to disable the wireless when an Ethernet cable is connected. I don't know of anything in Windowsthat prevents both from being used at the same time. Please remember to click “Mark as Answer” on the post that helps you, and to click “Unmark as Answer” if a marked post does not actually answer your question. I am testing with 3 HP units with one dating back to Vista days revised up to Win 7. Now testing with the Vista unit moved on to Win 7 and nowWin 10 Preview. Units have not been able to chat if Bolt Super 4G modem wireless router is on. I will test the older units and see if the new UEFI bios may be the problem on the touch system. Will relate the outcome but I still would like other inputs on this.Thanks,David.

Thanks both of you for your responses. It turns out then when I restart my desktop, the wireless network gets turned off yet the Ethernet remains on. The solution is simply to go to the wireless settings and click the wireless network I want to join, andboth seem to run in harmony just fine. It would be nice however, if Win 10 would remember this, so I didn't have to do the extra step. If there is a setting to make it remember the wireless network each time I restart, that would be helpful.Thank you both.

If anyone at MS reads this, it would be helpful to have instructions for desktop computers that don't have 'swipe' capabilities. Most of the help for W 10 redirects to W7 and it is not the same as the menus have changed. If the idea ofW10 is to integrate a desktop and a laptop or other mobile device, then help would need to be posted for each of the devices if appropriate. Would be nice however, if Win 10 would rememberMaybe it is remembering too well.

Have Ethernet And Wifi On At The Same Time

Check to see if you have a Power setting which disables Wi-Fi to save energy (of course they mean to save battery life but who knows what extremes they would go to to take that literally?)helpful to have instructions for desktop computers that don't have 'swipe' capabilities.Swiping only applies to W8 and W10 in Tablet mode and there is always a keyboard shortcut alternative for it. Where did you see swiping mentioned in this thread?
